The Grade 1 Ballet class is the first formal level in the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) Graded Syllabus. This class builds on the foundations of ballet technique, focusing on artistry, musicality, and performance skills while fostering discipline and a love of dance.

Key Features of the Class:
• Foundational Ballet Technique: Students develop strength, balance, coordination, and posture through structured barre and centre exercises.
• Rhythm and Musicality: Emphasis is placed on accurate timing, dynamic quality, and expressive movement set to diverse musical styles.
• Artistic Expression: Dancers explore storytelling and emotional expression through choreography and character work.
• Physical Skills: Exercises focus on flexibility, strength, and alignment to support safe dance practice.
• Partner and Group Work: Opportunities to dance in pairs or groups promote teamwork and spatial awareness.

Exam Preparation:
The class prepares students for the Grade 1 RAD Examination or Class Award, which includes performing a series of set exercises, short enchaînements, and dances. The assessment emphasizes technical accuracy, musicality, and performance skills in a supportive setting.

Goals:
• Establish a solid technical foundation for further graded levels.
• Develop confidence and stage presence through performance preparation.
